Gulfshore Homes is a company made up of exceptional individuals who uphold its values of integrity and service in the workplace and their communities. This Father’s Day, we highlight our general superintendent, Scott Clere, who is not only an incredible professional but an exceptional dad.

Throughout the workday, you will find Scott on various construction sites of some of the most lavished custom homes in Southwest Florida. He is the driving force keeping Gulfshore Homes projects organized and on task. When he’s not on the job site, Scott is a dedicated father to daughter Madelyn (18) and sons Sam (16) and Everett (11) and the loving husband of Tracey Clere. Scott has spent the last seven years volunteering his time to the Boy Scouts of America and guiding his eldest son to achieving the highest rank attainable in the Scouts BSA program.

Sam Clere Advances to Rank of Eagle Scout

Sam Clere, a rising junior from Cypress Lake High School in Fort Myers, successfully passed his Eagle Scout Board of Review this past May 26th and has been advanced to the rank of Eagle Scout. Sam provided positive benefits and 100 hours of community service for the P.A. Geraci Child Development Center for his Eagle Scout service project by improving their playground by planning, organizing, and supervising the construction of a tetherball court and a life-sized chess board made with 16×16 pavers.

As Scout leader, Scott got a front-row view of his son’s crowning achievement, a moment that will live in his memory and heart forever. Scott was a former Cub Scout but never got to opportunity to advance to the honorable rank of Eagle Scout due to his interest in other activities. He was thrilled when his son showed interest in the program and quickly volunteered to get involved. He began serving as a Scout leader seven years ago to spend time with his sons, teach valuable life skills, and enjoy the outdoors. “Scouting teaches values, a duty to country, and self-reliance. I feel young people need these skills in life more than ever.”

During their seven years in the Scouts, Sam has earned 45 merit badges alongside his father, his favorite badges being in cooking and wilderness survival, an accomplishment sure to make any father beam with pride. “My wife and I are extremely proud of Sam. It was very emotional for me to watch him turn into an accomplished young man and a great example for his younger brother.”
